Hey! Looks like you're using an outdated version of Firefox. My site looks pretty crazy, doesn't it? That's because this browser has a number of parsing bugs which prevent it from rendering HTML5 correctly. It's also slower and less secure than Firefox 3. Why don't you go upgrade your browser?

The Blog

is where THE GRAPHIC DESIGNER talks about things. Like web design. And icons. And egg rolls.

You might find no useful information at all.

But I know you will read on like a true champion.

Chemistry Communications

Joel is an excellent provider. He is knowledgeable, a quick worker, and a very capable coder. The quality of his work is superior. He is quick to communicate and very helpful. I will definitely work with him again. Thanks Joel!

Bay Area Sports Guy

Joel was a dream to work with. This project started out as something very simple but we ran into a lot of unexpected complications along the way. Joel was very knowledgeable and was able to easily maneuver around any issues that came up and make everything perfect. He put in 120% and was always available to answer any of my questions. I would love to work with Joel again and highly recommend him.

TUMIZA Wordpress Theme

TUMIZA is a red and brown corporate site theme designed for GuruMarco.com. It started out as a web design mockup that I cleaned up and now-ized, but with varying requests from the guys at GuruMarco it eventually evolved into a more 90s-ish, compact, darker theme.

Tested in IE8, Firefox 3.5, Opera 9/10, and Safari 4.

There would be a new, sexy space-themed Wordpress theme in the place of this post, but my hard drive got wiped out earlier this week and all of it is gone. :( I’ll see if I can resurrect it later.

Yippee!

Eight-year-old girl moments over, I’ve finally achieved the impossible: finished the design for my blog. I now have a constitutional compulsion to spend more time posting on it than editing the layout.

The most interesting new thing that I’ve introduced is a marvelous and revolutionary page called Contact Me, which—imagine this—will allow people to send the site owner emails directly. It even has a math CAPTCHA, thanks to the endless creativity of Joost de Valk and his marvelous Enhanced Wordpress Contact Form. I’ve used box-shadow on the #contacttester div to make it stick out just a bit more, with the interesting side effect (since it’s position: fixed) of putting a tiny shadow at the very top of your browser window. Since not many browsers support box-shadow, this is hardly a dealbreaking change, but it’s worth noting.

And that’s it. I’m not going back for at least a week. To prove my devotion, I’m setting far-future expires headers on all my template files.

And we’re all done.

barebonesgraphics is officially version 1.0. With the introduction of the Contact Me section, my blog is now fully featured (until my designer spirit starts shouting for another redesign). Hope you enjoy everything. :D

Tell me your troubles!
